We Answer The Questions We Get Asked The Most - Part 2

20.03.18 - Clarendon Homes

In our Part 1 FAQ post we focussed on the questions about the fun stuff; display home centre childcare, The Lifestyle Studio and our home designs. But, you of course have a lot more to consider than your favourite facade when embarking on a new home build, a house and land purchase or a knock-down rebuild. You need to sort out your finances, know what changes you can make at different stages of the build, and know the exact process Clarendon take you through from deciding to build, to turning the key for the first time. So, here is everything you need to know on the answers that matter the most...

The answers to all your questions that matter the most:

Do I have to organise my own finance?

At Clarendon Homes, we know the difference between home loans and construction loans and we want to help make the journey smoother for all involved. Here's where our team of finance managers come in. They're here to help you with anything finance related, every step of the way. And because they're also licensed mortgage brokers backed by Loan Market, they have a long list of financial institution friends - they can even find and manage your loan for you.

Why should I go with a Clarendon Mortgage Broker?

We have the power to negotiate a competitive deal with over 30 banks and lenders you know and trust, giving you confidence that we will find the right loan for you. We do the legwork and paperwork for you in 6 easy steps so you don't have to. We cut out the middleman and become your main point of contact throughout your new home journey.

Do I qualify for First Home Buyer Grant?

If you are 18 years of age or older, have not owned a residential property alone or with others and the total value of the home does not exceed the cap amount for eligible purchases, you could be entitled to a $10,000 First Home Owner Grant. How long does a typical home build take to complete?

Builds take approximately 12 months to complete if the land is registered (Plan Approval and Construction Time Frame).

Can I change my mind about design throughout the process?

Yes, contingent on the stage you’re at in the process. Before and until the completion of Step 2 (Tender) of the process, you’ll have the option to make structural changes without a fee. Before and until the completion of Stage 4 (Lifestyle Studio Selections) of the process, you’ll have the option to alter the specifications and finishes to your home.

What is the process of building a home with Clarendon?

We’ve created a 6 step guide to navigate you through every level of the buying and building process. With it, we’ll walk you through the steps so you can get appropriately prepared (and excited) as you progress. This way you’ll know where in the process you are, as well as exactly what you’ll need to do every step of the way.

Feel free to pop into one of our Display Centres to pick up your 6 Step Guide.
