We built our first home in 2003 with Clarendon. We raised our 4 children in this home and during Covid, we renovated it. We realised that our family has outgrown this home and we decided to sell and do a knockdown rebuild.
It was a very scary period after the COVID pandemic, with souring material prices and labour shortages. It was important for us to pick the right builder. My husband has a building background, and he noticed that the quality of Clarendon display homes were of higher standard to others. And with Clarendon’s longevity in the industry, our past experience, and that they are 100% Australian owned, it was a non brainer for us.
Gavin from Parklea display homes was very helpful during our search for our property. His quick feedback helped us find the perfect knockdown rebuild property.
We fell in love with the Sheridan House in Parklea. It has multiple seperate living areas that is perfect for our teenage children. I loved the large kitchen with the butler’s pantry with the adjoining living area. We made very little changes to the footprint layout. Main change was made in the main bathroom where we removed the bathtub and put in a double vanity instead because our children loved their showers exclusively. We used a method of elimination during the colour selection and upgrade process to stick to our budget.
The building process was an extremely positive experience from start to finish. Our site supervisor Eric kept us consistently informed throughout the build, listened to our concerns and showed a remarkable eye for detail. We were grateful for his transparency and trusted him. The end result was a beautifully finished home that we are truly delighted with.
We moved into our new home in August 2024 and we have been busy with landscaping, pool building, and furnishing our beautiful home ever since. It is still in progress. We are very proud to share our home and inspire other future home owners to take on their building journey with Clarendon Homes. No doubt, if we had to do it again, we would build with Clarendon!
My kitchen is my absolute favourite place. The heart of the home. I love our wooden staircase, which was a non negotiable upgrade. Our double glazed windows keep us cool in summer and warm in winter. Being a family of 6, having a mud room area is a must to keep the shoes, bags and coats in one place. I created this space in the hallway near the linen cabinet. I love how you can design your home, the way you want it! To suit your was such a rewarding experience.
I love coming home! It makes me so happy!
