Frequently Asked Questions

What is a home facade?

Your home's facade is like its face to the world… It’s the first impression your visitors and neighbours will see! This exterior design includes all the visible elements from the street, like your windows, doors, entryway, and the overall architectural details and style. It's one of the most essential parts of your home's design, setting the tone for the entire property and playing a significant role in its curb appeal and street presence.

What aspects of the facade design can I customise?

You have complete freedom to personalise your Clarendon home facade! With our intuitive Facade Styler tool, you can easily impart your touch. Change everything from external paint colours and roofing to trims, the garage door, and even your front door. Simply choose a facade design as your starting point, then with just one click, you can visualise different cladding colours, exposed brick, or rendered exteriors. It's all about bringing your vision and colour palette to life. Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions and would prefer to speak to one of our experts.

What factors should I consider when designing my house facade?

Creating an appealing home facade involves combining several key design features. Here are some major considerations for your new house facade:

Architectural

The architectural styles are the foundation for your new home. Whether you’re looking for a sleek modern home, a warm contemporary, or traditional styles, your facade choice will guide all other decisions. Think about how the lines and shapes will influence the overall look.

Street Appeal

Street appeal is also important when it comes to facades. Your house’s facade should complement its surroundings, whether you're building in coastal Queensland or the vibrant Brisbane city. While your design should be your very own, a design that fits within the street's appearance will improve your home's aesthetic. It’s about finding a balance between individuality and fitting into the neighbourhood's character.

Material Selection

The material selection significantly impacts durability and aesthetics. Options such as cladding, weatherboard, and trims offer a range of textures and colours. Combining different materials can create a distinct and inviting look.

Colour Scheme

Next, your colour scheme plays a pivotal role. The hues you choose for your exterior will influence how your home is perceived. A neutral colour scheme can make a space feel open, while darker tones add intimacy. Do not forget your front and garage doors for pops of personality!

Lighting and Landscaping

Finally, natural light, lighting, and landscaping are the finishing touches. Well-placed outdoor lighting highlights features and adds security. A well-designed landscape brings together your home's exterior, creating an inviting outdoor area that complements its architecture.

What does the building process involve, and how do I get started?

Getting started with your facade design is exciting and easy! We recommend following these three simple steps:

  1. Choose your house type: Before you jump into our home visualiser, take a moment to think about which home design would best suit you. If you need more inspiration before choosing, feel free to visit your closest display home to help visualise your new lifestyle!
  2. Choose your facade: Once you’ve selected your home type, browse our gallery of modern house facades. This will be the foundation of your facade design. Remember that colours and materials are fully customisable, so focus on finding a house design you love for its structure rather than the styling details!
  3. Customise your design with the Facade Styler: Now for the best part! With our interactive tool, you can simply click on any part of your facade to explore a range of different colours, finishes, decorative elements and materials, making it perfectly suited to your lifestyle needs.
